Goal

The goal of this unit is to provide lighting, traffic signal, and related electrical systems support for districts, local agencies, and consultants in order to design and operate safe, uniform, and easily maintainable electrical systems.

What you need to provide to the unit

  • Plans and special provisions when looking for assistance with a construction issue
  • Comments and feedback on products, policies, and standards
  • Communication on issues related to signal design and operation and methods to improve systems
  • Cleaned up CADD files for light level runs
  • AGI32 or Visual lighting design files for light level reviews
  • Plans and specifications for lighting design review

What the unit expects from you

  • Project special provisions:  Start with sample special provisions every time you write project special provisions to ensure all standards are followed and coordinated with the Standard Specification for Construction Book
  • Timely review of documents when providing input on changes to standards
  • Feedback on products and design standards so that they can be changed as appropriate
  • Adherence to standards and policies to provide a uniform and safe system statewide
