Public invited to learn about plans for Highway 23 in Waite Park at open house Jan. 14
Project aims to improve safety at Highway 23 and Bel Clare Drive
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the Waite Park community to learn about plans to improve access and safety on Highway 23 at Bel Claire Drive on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025.
The open house will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at Waite Park Public Works, 670 17th Ave. S. in Waite Park. Guests will have the opportunity to visit with project staff, view design layouts and ask questions. To better fit individual schedules, the event is drop-in-style—guests may stop by and leave at their convenience.
MnDOT will improve access and safety with a J-turn at the intersection of Highway 23 at Bel Clare Drive in Waite Park. J-turns are proven to reduce serious and fatal crashes caused by “T-bone” crashes at intersections. Work is scheduled for 2027.
