About this 2026 project

MnDOT will replace the box bridge over the Marmon Creek between 327th Pl. and 325th Ave. along the northeast shore of Mille Lacs Lake, west of Malmo, Aitkin County. Project requires a detour.

Summary of work

  • Replace with wider box bridge (Bridge No. 729 to 01X10)
  • Pave road surface
  • Update guardrail

Future impacts

  • Hwy 18 will close and detour.
    • Detour plan: Hwy 169, Co. Rd. 28, Co. Rd. 12 and Hwy 47 (adds more than 34 miles)
    • Access will be maintained north and south of the bridge closure
