Construction site management
Enforcing stormwater requirements
The following link contains guidance and templates to help with enforcement of erosion control and stormwater requirements of MnDOT contracts.
Erosion control supervisor
Do you have what it takes to be an erosion control supervisor?
Erosion control supervisors on MnDOT projects must have a current Construction Site Management certification from the University of Minnesota’s Erosion and Stormwater Management Certification Program. A list of certified people can be found at the following website. Note that the list is updated once each summer, so people who have been certified recently may not appear on the list yet. In that case the person will have a certificate showing they have completed the Construction Site Management class.
MnDOT currently accepts the Construction Site Management certification offered by the Minnesota Utility Contractors Association (MUCA) for erosion control supervisors who are overseeing strictly utility work rather than all aspects of road or bridge construction. Note: this distinction between utility work and road or bridge construction is currently under review.
Stormwater inspections
The following template and instructions are for contractors to use to document weekly and post-rain construction stormwater inspection reports on MnDOT projects. Alternative formats can be used as long as they provide the same information and level of detail described in the documents below.
