Adequacy Determination
Purpose
An Adequacy Determination (AD) is the final environmental decision in the state environmental review program. It is the determination which concludes the state process, and allows a major project to proceed to final design, right of way acquisition, letting and construction.
When to use this subject
Projects that meet or exceed a Mandatory EIS Category require the preparation of a state level EIS. The final decision to complete this MEPA process is an Adequacy Determination.
How this subject fits into the overall project development process
The Adequacy Determination must be completed before detailed design, right of way acquisition, and project letting may occur.
