Lighting Plan

Purpose

The primary purpose of roadway and street lighting is to allow accurate and comfortable visibility of hazards at night with sufficient time to allow appropriate action. Good lighting significantly reduces the number of night-time crashes, especially on urban freeways and major streets.

When to use this subject

Your project will need a lighting plan for all projects on which the state participates in cost whether the state or a local agency administers the contract.
