2025 Survey Technical Workshop

Date: March 11 – 13, 2025
Location: Breezy Point Conference Center

The Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Office of Land Management invites you to attend the 2025 Survey Technical Workshop. The workshop focuses on the survey technician and will provide a setting in which they can view current practices, examine prospective trends, consider technical applications and improvements, and build relationships within the surveying community. We are pleased to offer this training opportunity to MnDOT employees, and our professional partners from the private sector and local public agencies. This year marks MnDOT’s 27th year of sponsoring this workshop and we are proud to offer topics with the focus on surveying, mapping, GIS, and other related topics of interest to the surveying community.

Session schedule for the 2025 Workshop (subject to change).

Workshop check in begins at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. The workshop program starts at 10:00 a.m. and includes 2.5 days of educational sessions and exhibits. The workshop concludes on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Registration will close on February 14, 2025.
  • Registration fee is $135 when you register on or before February 1, 2025.
  • Registration fee increases to $160 when you register after February 1, 2025.
  • Registration cancellations must be received by February 21, 2025, for a full workshop registration fee refund.

MnDOT Employee Registration Process

         All MnDOT  employees who would like to attend the 2025 Survey Technical Workshop should: 
  • Complete the MnDOT Registration Form and obtain supervisory approval for your training request.
  • Follow your Office/District Training Registration Process; do not follow the process below.
  • You will receive an enrollment confirmation via email once your registration has been approved.

Non-MnDOT Employee Registration Process

Note:
The online registration form asks you to provide Not Public data about yourself. You are not legally required to provide any data, however without your data you cannot register for the conference. The data you provide is subject to the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act and in addition to the conference organizers may be accessible to anyone who requests the data.

  • The registration fee will cover workshop costs. It is non-negotiable but is transferable.

Note:
The registration fee does not include the cost of meals and lodging at the workshop. Please fill out the Breezy Point Reservation Form to reserve meals and lodging.

Please only complete the Breezy Point Lodging Reservation Form for lodging and commuter meal plans when you have submitted your workshop registration and payment in Step 1.

  • After your lodging reservation has been processed, you will receive an email confirmation from Breezy Point.

Skip step 2 if you do not require lodging or meals from Breezy Point. If you are lodging somewhere else, you may still purchase the meal package from Breezy Point.

*IMPORTANT*
Breezy Point will charge a $267.00 cancellation fee if your lodging is canceled less than 30 days prior to arrival.

For those submitting Professional Development Hours with the Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscaping Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design, please select those sessions that will meet your personal training needs and satisfy your defined licensing standard requirements. Workshop participants are responsible for submitting for Professional Development Hours with the board. Attendees planning on using this workshop towards earning professional development hours are responsible for retaining registration receipts and the workshop brochure, which provides the agenda and course descriptions. As a sponsor of this event, the Office of Land Management will provide workshop participants with a Certificate of Attendance upon request, please contact Lorianna Yang at Lorianna.yang@state.mn.us after the workshop.

Vendor displays and exhibits can be viewed in the Minnesota Dining Rooms. Vendor displays can be viewed throughout the workshop. Exhibitors will be happy to answer specific questions regarding their products and services. If you or your company would like to participate in the vendor display area at the 2025 Survey Technical Workshop, please contact Lorianna Yang via email at: lorianna.yang@state.mn.us. There is no cost to have a vendor display, but space is limited and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis to the first 18 interested companies. If you would like to attend the workshop you will need to follow the Workshop Registration and Payment Process.
